Pocket Watch Financial

Terms of Service

Effective May 18, 2026

Welcome to Pocket Watch Financial (“Pocket Watch”, “the Service”, “we”, “us”). These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Service. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, do not use the Service.

1. What Pocket Watch is

Pocket Watch is a read-only personal-finance dashboard that projects your cash runway, tracks your spending, and helps you visualize recurring bills against your income. It uses Plaid to securely retrieve information from financial institutions you choose to connect.

Pocket Watch cannot move your money. We don't initiate payments, transfers, trades, or any write operations on your bank accounts. We can only read the information you authorize us to read.

Pocket Watch is not a financial advisor. Nothing in the app constitutes financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. The runway projection and overspending alerts are estimates calculated from the data you provide and the transactions we observe — they may be wrong, incomplete, or out of date. You are solely responsible for decisions you make using the Service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and a resident of the United States to use Pocket Watch. By creating an account you represent that you meet these requirements.

3. Your account

  • You agree to provide accurate sign-in information and to keep it current.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.
  • One account per person. You may invite a second member to your household (e.g. a spouse) via the in-app invite flow. Both members then have equal access to the household's financial data.
  • Notify us immediately at chicagoarkouda@gmail.com if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

4. Use of Plaid

By linking a bank account, you authorize Plaid to act on your behalf to retrieve information from your financial institution. Plaid's handling of that information is governed by its own End User Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. You can revoke this access at any time by disconnecting the account from the Manage accounts screen.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Access accounts that are not yours, or accounts you don't have permission to view.
  • Scrape, programmatically download, or reverse-engineer the Service or its API.
  • Probe, scan, or test the security of the Service without prior written authorization.
  • Use the Service to launder money, finance illegal activity, or violate any applicable law or regulation.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or attempt to gain access to other users' data.
  • Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service or its data without our prior written consent.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

6. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, completeness, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, free of viruses, or that projections, categorizations, or budgets shown in the app are accurate or reliable. You use the Service at your own risk.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Pocket Watch and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, business, opportunity, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the Service — including, without limitation, missed bill payments, overdrafts, NSF fees, late fees, returned payments, or any other financial loss attributable to acting on information shown in the Service.

Our total aggregate liability arising out of or related to these Terms shall not exceed one hundred U.S. dollars ($100).

Some jurisdictions do not allow exclusion of certain warranties or limitations of liability; in those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the greatest extent permitted by law.

8. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Pocket Watch and its operators against any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to your violation of these Terms, your misuse of the Service, or your violation of any law or third-party right.

9. Intellectual property

All software, design, branding, and content of the Service is owned by Pocket Watch's operators and protected by U.S. and international intellectual property laws. You retain ownership of any data you provide; you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to use that data solely to operate and improve the Service for you.

10. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time and may request account deletion via the contact email below. We may suspend or terminate your access at our discretion, including for violation of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends; the provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (Sections 6–9, 12) will survive.

11. Changes to the Service or these Terms

We may add, modify, or discontinue features at any time. We may update these Terms; if we make material changes, we'll update the “Effective” date and notify you by email or via a banner in the app. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance of the new Terms. If you don't agree to a change, you may delete your account.

12. Governing law & disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in North Carolina, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts. Nothing here prevents either party from seeking injunctive relief in a court of competent jurisdiction.
